(CLEVELAND) - December 29, 2008 - Vantage Hospitality Group, Inc., is accelerating in the slowing economy as more hotel owners are seeking the affordable alternative to franchising. Americas Best Value Inn added 21 hotel properties in September and October, and two independent hotels joined the Canadas Best Value Inn brand. As of the beginning of December, Vantage's North American properties exceeded 800, raising the company's worldwide ranking to number eight in terms of total hotel properties.
Canadas Best Value Inn
Canadas Best Value Inn added two independent properties. In Calgary, Alberta, the 53-room hotel is located on the TransCanada Highway in "motel village." All rooms offer queen beds, a microwave and a refrigerator, and an outdoor pool and laundromat are among the amenities. A variety of restaurants are within walking distance. The light rail train is a five-minute walk, whisking visitors to many downtown attractions, shopping, and the famous 10-day Calgary Stampede held in July.
The Prince George, British Columbia, hotel features 59 rooms and suites. It has a full-service restaurant, while shopping, museums, golf, winter sports activities, and its close proximity to two colleges attract guests year-round.
Americas Best Value Inn
Americas Best Value Inn added 1,403 rooms in September and October. The new hotels with over 100 rooms are Williamsburg, Va. (131 rooms); Bossier City, La. (110 rooms); and Niles, Ill. (120 rooms). The other properties are located in Arkansas, California, Iowa, Mississippi, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Of the total, 12 are conversions from other brands, eight are independents, and one property is a new prototype construction.
"Our innovative programs and incentives, including the '100 % Return On Investment Promise' and no membership fees on new construction for the first year of operation, continue to attract new members. As a result, we're growing at a steady pace, whether the economy is weak or strong," said Roger Bloss, Founder, President and CEO of Vantage Hospitality Group Inc., the parent company of both brands and The Lexington Collection.
